Healing for the Whole Self: Why Therapy Should Include Your Mind, Body, and Spirit
Healing is not just about changing your thoughts—it’s about reconnecting to your body and, for many, to your sense of spirit or deeper meaning.
When we’ve experienced trauma, our mind and body can become disconnected. We may ignore physical cues, live in a state of constant alert, or feel emotionally numb. True healing addresses all of you—mind, body, and spirit.
In my work, this might mean pairing EMDR with somatic practices that help you notice and release tension, using mindfulness to bring you into the present, or integrating spirituality in whatever way it’s meaningful to you. This isn’t about fitting you into a formula—it’s about creating a space where every part of you can show up and be heard.
Your healing deserves to be whole.
